How to reorder contents in a category
There are three ways to organize content in a category:
- last modified
- alphabetical by name
- custom
You can also pin contents in a category to get additional flexibility.
With Last Modified and Alphabetical sort, you can also pin a page to the top of a category, so it will always be at the top of the list, regardless of last-modified date.
Subcategories will always appear at the top of the list (except for pinned pages). You can rearrange the order of pinned objects by using the drag and drop icon.
Last Modified
With this option, newer content will show up at the top of the list. This option will sort your content (pages, questions, links, etc.) in a category by the last date there were any edits made to that item.
Note that you can view the date the content was last edited in the Last modified column:
Alphabetical by name
Items in categories with this order will be sorted by the first letter of the title, alphabetically. This is ideal for categories that hold a team glossary or client information.
Custom
The most customizable option, this allows you to drag and drop all items in the category to exactly where you choose.
Changing the sort order
Step 1. Edit
In the left sidebar, click the kebab (three dots) menu right next to the subcategory. Select Edit.
Or, while viewing the category, click the three dots on the top right, and then Edit category.
Step 2. Edit Category
At the bottom of the Edit Category form, choose the default order of the subcategory's content. Once you have selected, click Update category.
This works for subcategories too!
